Mark Overington
BHSc(Phys), PGDip Musculo
Hi, my name is Mark and I have been a part of the team at Remuera Physiotherapy since February 2011. I qualified with a Bachelor of Health Science in physiotherapy from AUT in 2006 and since then have worked my way towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (PgDip) which I graduated with in 2011. During my post grad studies I was fortunate enough to work with physiotherapists for the New Zealand Academy of Sport and Team New Zealand for a number of weeks. Since graduating I have worked in a variety of private practices in Auckland which has given me a good perspective of life as a physio. I have a particular interest in biomechanics and restoring muscle balance which is what attracted me to work at Remuera Physiotherapy. Among other particular interests of mine are injuries to the Achilles tendon and Tennis Elbow.
Growing up and living on the shore has inevitably led me to being involved in sailing, and I regularly try and hit the water either windsurfing or sailing a variety of boats. I competed in Olympic class yachting events for the past seven years so I have a passion for racing. Apart from this I keep myself busy with hobbies like mountain biking, hockey, snowboarding, running, learning the guitar and travelling.
